Kymani Sterling, Sully Mack Named RMAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Kymani Sterling and Black Hills State’s Sully Mack are the week three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.
Sterling opened his 2022-23 season at the Potts Invitational in Boulder, Colo., last weekend where he placed sixth in the 200-meter dash with a raw time of 21.81. The sophomore was the first NCAA Division II athlete to place in a field of 38 competitors containing 21 NCAA DI runners.
The Mountain Lions will return to the track Saturday, Jan. 21, as they host the Colorado Running Company UCCS Invite at Mountain Lion Fieldhouse in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mack had a strong showing at the Myrle Hanson open in Spearfish, S.D., last weekend where he captured second place in the weight throw with 16.9m (55-5.5 ft). The mark was .15m short of his personal best of 17.42m.
The Yellow Jackets will be back in action at the David Little Alumni Mile, a two-day event, beginning on Friday, Jan, 20, in Spearfish, S.D.
Men’s Track Athlete of the Week: Kymani Sterling, UCCS – So. – North Platte, Neb.
Sterling is the latest RMAC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after an impressive performance at the Potts Invitational in Boulder, Colo. The North Platte, Neb., native placed sixth overall in the 200m dash with a time of 21.81, leading a string of four UCCS runners among the top-12 finishers.

Men’s Field Athlete of the Week: Sully Mack, Black Hills State – Sr. – Watertown, S.D.
After his first meet of the season, Mack is the RMAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after a second-place finish in the weight throw last weekend. With a throw of 16.9m, he outthrew the third-place finisher by .88m.
