COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Colorado’s Hunter Mullin is the Week Nine Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
 
The redshirt senior concluded a 3-0 tear over the weekend at the Midwest Duals, hosted by Nebraska-Kearney. The No. 23 Mountaineers (7-5, 2-0 RMAC) opened the event with a dual against No. 1 Central Oklahoma, where Mullin closed out his opponent by an 18-4 major decision in the 165-pound bout. He then notched another dominant performance in his matchup against No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney with yet another major decision, this time by a 9-1 mark. Finally, the Clay Center, Kan., native helped his squad to a 33-15 win over No. 17 Fort Hays State with a fall at the 6:05 mark.
 
Mullin and the Mountaineers will now host No. 8 Adams State for a conference dual on Friday, Jan. 27, inside Paul Wright Gym in Gunnison, Colo. The tilt is slated to begin at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on the RMAC Network.
 
Wrestler of the Week: Hunter Mullin, Western Colorado – R-Sr. – 165 – Clay Center, Kan.
Mullin went 3-0 at the Midwest Duals, scoring a pair of major decisions during Western's matches against No. 1 Central Oklahoma and No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney. Following those two dominant performances, he closed out the busy weekend with a third-period fall in the Mountaineers’ upset of No. 17 Fort Hays State.
