Gabriel Campora, Lluis Fabregat and Diego Chavez Tabbed Week Six Men’s Soccer Players of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo’s (10-1-1, 4-0-0 RMAC) Gabriel Campora joins Colorado Mesa’s (8-2-2, 3-0-1 RMAC) Lluis Fabregat and Diego Chavez as the Week Six Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Players of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Offensive Player of the Week: Gabriel Campora, CSU Pueblo – Sr. – F – Saltillo, Mexico
Campora continued his tear this season and led the No. 8 ThunderWolves to a 2-0 outing last week with a pair of wins against University of Colorado Colorado Springs and Colorado Christian. The senior netted three goals in his two caps, including two successful attempts from the penalty spot. For the week, Campora finished with six shots, four on goal, and now stands at 13 goals on the season, the most in the RMAC. Further, he is a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks for the year and leads the league with 28 points this season.

Defensive Player of the Week: Lluis Fabregat, Colorado Mesa – Sr. – D – Tortosa, Spain
Fabregat was a game-changer on defense for the Mavericks, helping his squad to a pair of wins last week over Colorado School of Mines and Metropolitan State University of Denver. The senior steered the Mavs to a 3-2 win over the Orediggers and added a crucial goal in the match to mark Colorado Mesa’s first win over Mines since 2016. He added one shot in each contest and chaired the Mavericks’ backline to a shutout victory over the Roadrunners for the team’s third clean sheet this season.

Goalkeeper of the Week: Diego Chavez, Colorado Mesa – R-So. – GK – Longmont, Colo.
Chavez earns his third RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor of the season after claiming a pair of wins in the net for the Mavs last week. The redshirt sophomore finished the week with 11 saves, eight of which came in the 1-0 shutout over MSU Denver. Against the Roadrunners, he tabbed six second-half saves, three of those coming on breakaway attempts, and finished the contest by pushing a shot over the crossbar with 20 seconds left to preserve the Colorado Mesa win. He also stamped a trio of saves to help his team to its first win over the Orediggers since the 2016 campaign.
