Gracie Lyman, Caileen Sienknecht and Nicole Genis Notch Week Eight RMAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Colorado’s (3-10-2, 3-6-0 RMAC) Gracie Lyman and Caileen Sienknecht join Colorado State University Pueblo’s (5-3-6, 3-2-4 RMAC) Nicole Genis as the Week Eight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Players of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Gracie Lyman, Western Colorado – Jr. – M – Grand Junction, Colo.
Lyman provided all the scoring in Sunday’s 2-0 road win over Black Hills State, marking the first scoring efforts of her collegiate career. She registered four shots in the contest, three on frame, and found the net twice in the second half to break a scoreless draw.

Defensive Player of the Week: Caileen Sienknecht, Western Colorado – Gr. – M – Manitou Springs, Colo.
Sienknecht spearheaded a defense that held the Yellow Jackets scoreless on Sunday in the 2-0 victory for the Mountaineers. However, the graduate student made a bigger mark on Friday when she registered the first career game-winning goal of her career in the Mountaineers’ 3-2 upset over Regis. Sienknecht continues to lead Western Colorado in points this season with nine points on four goals and one assist, despite moving from the midfield to the back line.

Goalkeeper of the Week: Nicole Genis, CSU Pueblo – Sr. – GK – San Jose, Costa Rica
Genis played all 180 minutes in the net to lead the Pack to an unbeaten week and two shutouts. The senior now holds five clean sheets this season after converting four saves in Friday’s scoreless draw against Westminster. Genis followed up with a stout performance on Sunday in which she led the Pack to a 1-0 win over No. 6 Colorado Mesa. Against the Mavs, she registered two saves and boosted CSU Pueblo to their first win over a top-10 opponent in seven years. All told she did not allow a goal over the weekend despite facing 16 shots.
