COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Metropolitan State University of Denver’s (2-0) Caleb McGill and Colorado Mesa’s (1-1) reigning RMAC Defensive Player of the Year, Mac Riniker, claimed the Week One Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Caleb McGill | MSU Denver | Jr. | F | Aurora, Colo.
McGill averaged 22.5 points per game for the Roadrunners while shooting a staggering 62.5 percent from the three-point line. The junior forward’s aggressiveness put him at the free throw line where he shot 10-for-13 on the weekend. McGill set a new career-high in points with 27 in Friday night’s 101-84 win over Arkansas-Fort Smith. His record setting performance was followed up by an 18-point outing against Oklahoma Christian.

Defensive Player of the Week: Mac Riniker | Colorado Mesa | R-Jr. | G | Steamboat Springs, Colo.
Riniker picked up right where he left over against Dallas Baptist and St. Edwards. The reigning RMAC Defensive Player of the Year was hounding opposing offenses throughout the weekend, averaging four steals and one block per game. The redshirt junior was also cleaning the glass for the Mavericks with six and seven rebounds in CMU’s Friday and Saturday matchups, respectively.
