Sabrina VanDeList Named 2023 RMAC Volleyball Summit Award Winner

DENVER, Colo – Colorado Mesa’s Sabrina VanDeList is the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Summit Award winner, the league announced Thursday. VanDeList earns the honor as a 4.0 elementary education major for the Mavericks.
 
VanDeList, a redshirt junior from Severance, Colo., claims the RMAC Volleyball Summit Award ahead of the 2023 RMAC Volleyball Tournament Semifinals. The Colorado Mesa setter has been unstoppable for much of the 2023 campaign and tallied five RMAC Setter of the Week honors, led the RMAC in assists (1,123), and guided the Mavericks to the No. 2 overall seed in the RMAC Tournament. With an overall record of 24-3, the Mavericks are currently ranked No. 10 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll. Individually, VanDeList stands third in the nation with an impressive 11.82 assists per set.
 
VanDeList earns her second consecutive RMAC Summit Award for the Mavs as her squad enters the semifinals of the conference tournament. She will be honored ahead of the No. 2-seeded Mavericks’ semifinal match against No. 3-seeded Regis on Friday, Nov. 17, at 7:30 p.m. MT, inside Auraria Event Center on the Metropolitan State University of Denver campus.
 
To be eligible for the RMAC Summit Award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above academically and in their second year or later with their current institution. Student-athletes must be active members of their current roster, have competed in at least 20 percent of available competitions and travel and compete at the championship or tournament finals site. Student-athletes who transfer after completing their undergraduate degree are not eligible to win the award.
