COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs is the favorite heading into the 2023-24 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field season, the league announced Monday. The RMAC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll is voted on by the league’s 13 head coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own programs.

The Mountain Lions garnered the top spot in preseason voting after finishing with 135 points and 11 of 13 first-place votes. UCCS enters the indoor season after capturing the RMAC title last year, marking their fourth consecutive conference indoor title at the 2023 event. Head coach Ross Fellows returns a slew of all-conference competitors for the 2023-24 indoor campaign and will utilize a large and talented group to hunt for the program’s fifth conference championship in as many years.

Adams State checks in at second place in preseason voting with 120 points and the league’s final two first-place votes. The Grizzlies are coming off an incredible indoor season where they finished second overall, a mere two points behind the national champions, at the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Virginia Beach Sports Center. Led by head coach Damon Martin, Adams State will surely contend for a conference title before campaigning for the national crown.

Colorado School of Mines stands third overall in preseason voting after racking up 116 points from the league’s coaches. A consistent contender, the Orediggers placed fifth overall at last year’s RMAC Indoor Championships after sending seven men to compete. At the national championship, Mines earned one national title and a silver medal.

Colorado State University Pueblo and Colorado Mesa finish preseason voting tied for fourth place with 106 points each. Western Colorado stands sixth overall with 97 points, followed by Chadron State in seventh place with 66 points. Black Hills State earned 61 points for eighth place, while Colorado Christian locked up ninth place with 58 points, just ahead of Metropolitan State University of Denver in 10th place with 57 points.
