Pack’s Kenshin Uneo Nabs 2023 RMAC Men’s Soccer Summit Award

DURANGO, Colo. – For the second consecutive season, Colorado State University Pueblo nabs the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Summit Award. Kenshin Uneo, a senior midfielder for the Pack, claims the award for  the 2023 campaign, the league announced Thursday.
 
Uneo claims the award as a senior with a flawless 4.0 grade-point average in his business management program with 119 completed hours. The Hyogo, Japan, native has been an instrumental figure for the ThunderWolves in the 2023 campaign and boasts 20 starts on as many caps. He has logged 1,441 minutes of action throughout the year and helped the Pack secure the No. 3 seed in the RMAC Men’s Soccer Tournament before paving a path to the tournament’s championship game.
 
As a core member of the CSU Pueblo roster, specifically in the midfield, Uneo and the ThunderWolves enter the RMAC Tournament title game as the No. 16 team in the nation with a 14-4-2 overall record. Uneo helped lift the Pack to a 6-3-1 mark in conference play throughout the 2023 regular season.
 
Uneo will now be honored before Friday’s RMAC Men’s Soccer Tournament Championship match against top-seeded Fort Lewis in Durango, Colo. The ThunderWolves will square off against the Skyhawks on Friday, Nov. 10, at 5 p.m. MT, at Dirks Field. The broadcast of the RMAC Men’s Soccer Tournament championship will be aired live on the RMAC Network. Fans can watch the contest by purchasing a viewing pass on the RMAC Network for $9.95.
 
To be eligible for the RMAC Summit Award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above academically and in their second year or later with their current institution. Student-athletes must be active members of their current roster, have competed in at least 20 percent of available competitions and travel and compete at the championship or tournament finals site. Student-athletes who transfer after completing their undergraduate degree are not eligible to win the award.
