Colorado School of Mines’ Marc Zimmerman Tabbed 2023 RMAC Men’s Soccer Academic Player of the Year
2023 RMAC Men's Soccer All-Academic Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ Marc Zimmerman is the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Thursday alongside its All-Academic First Team and Honor Roll list.
Zimmerman claims the league’s academic award as a junior electrical engineering major with a 3.93 grade-point average. After earning 10 starts on 17 appearances throughout the 2023 campaign, the midfielder tied a bow on the season with four goals and two assists for 10 points. He racked up 833 minutes on the pitch and peppered the final third with 19 shots and a .421 shots-on-goal percentage. A native of Orsingen-Nenzingen, Germany, Zimmerman finished the 2023 regular season with one assist in each of his final two matches.
Leading the way on the RMAC Men’s Soccer All-Academic First Team are Colorado State University Pueblo and Metropolitan State University of Denver with three selections apiece. The Pack are represented by Shjon Andrews, Kenshin Uneo and Dylan Zavatini, while Aaron Biggerstaff, Noah Hannula and Ross Miller earn spots for the Roadrunners. Colorado School of Mines checks in next with two honorees, Zimmerman and Quin Collins. Rounding out the 11-man roster are Colorado Mesa’s Manuel Ponce Casas, Fort Lewis’ Gabriel Legendre and University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Kolby Raineri.
MSU Denver’s Hannula joins CSU Pueblo’s Uneo and Zavatini as the lone first-team honorees with flawless 4.0 GPAs in their respective majors.
