Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – South Dakota Mines’ (4-4, 2-0 RMAC) Alejandro Rama and Colorado Mesa’s (5-1, 2-0 RMAC) Mac Riniker are the Week Four Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Alejandro Rama | South Dakota Mines | 5-Yr. | G | Pine Ridge, S.D.
Rama was a leader on the court for the Hardrockers in the team’s three wins to begin RMAC play. The six-foot, one-inch guard averaged 19.3 points per game, nabbed 20 rebounds and shot 44% from the field. Rama’s best offensive performance came against rival Black Hills State where he logged 37 minutes and recorded 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists. After his dominant weekend, Rama currently ranks fifth in the RMAC for points per game and eighth in assists per game.

Defensive Player of the Week: Mac Riniker | Colorado Mesa | R-Jr. | G | Steamboat Springs, Colo.
The reigning RMAC Defensive Player of the Year was all over the court for the Mavericks’ pair of wins over Colorado School of Mines and Metropolitan State University of Denver. Riniker averaged 17 points per game while tallying eight steals. The redshirt junior tallied a season-high six steals against the Roadrunners and stymied a potent MSU Denver offense. Riniker is now the conference leader in steals per game (3.2) this season.
