Brianna Robles, Ahshareah Enoe Named RMAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Adams State Brianna Robles and New Mexico Highlands’ Ashareah Enoe are the week seven Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.
Robles broke the 11-year-old NCAA Division II Women’s Indoor 5,000-meter record over the weekend with a time of 15:47.88 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass. The junior finished in 16th place but was the first NCAA DII athlete to cross the finish line in a field of 102 competitors. In addition to claiming her first RMAC Track Athlete of the Week honor of the season, Robles was also named the United States Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II Female Athlete of the Week.
The Grizzlies will now compete at the Western Colorado Alumni Open on Friday, Feb. 17, for one final tune-up before the RMAC Indoor Championships, which begin on Friday, Feb. 24, in Alamosa, Colo.
Enoe claimed a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.82m (5 – 11.5 ft) at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. The freshman was the first NCAA DII athlete, in a field of 36, to place in the event and claimed a NCAA DII provision mark along the way.
The Cowgirls will now take the weekend off before competing at the RMAC Indoor Championships.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Brianna Robles, Adams State – Jr. – Palmview, Texas
Robles entered the NCAA Division II record book with the fastest 5k time history after clocking a time of 15:47.88. She shattered the previous record of 16:01.09, set by Neely Spence in 2011, by more than 10 seconds. Her record time ranks seven seconds faster than the second-place RMAC performer this season.

Enoe earns the conference’s latest weekly indoor field honor after claiming third place in the high jump over the weekend with a 1.82m clearance. She now holds the first and second spots on this season’s NCAA DII indoor performance list.
