Paige White, Kali Crandall Named Week Two RMAC Softball Players of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Paige White and Colorado Christian’s Kali Crandall are the Week Two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league announced Wednesday.
White earns Player of the Week honors after leading the Mountain Lions (3-6) to three wins in their four-game series at home against Nebraska-Kearney over the weekend. The sophomore closed the weekend with a .615 batting average after securing hits in eight of her 13 plate appearances. She accounted for six runs on her own and drove in six RBI throughout the series with five of her eight hits going for extra bases. White also stamped three home runs, a 1.462 slugging percentage and a .688 on-base percentage to go along with five assists and eight putouts on defense.
Up next, the Mountain Lions open conference play with a four-game series on the road against New Mexico Highlands. UCCS and New Mexico Highlands will open the series with a doubleheader beginning on Saturday, Feb. 18, at noon MT, at NMHU Softball Field in Las Vegas, N.M.
Crandall racks up her second consecutive RMAC Pitcher of the Week honor after boosting the Cougars (10-2) to four more wins in their west-coast swing last week. The graduate righty put in 21 innings of work and a pair of complete-game shutouts while allowing just 11 hits throughout the week. She limited opponents to a .147 batting average and struck out 24 batters along the way. After setting a single-game strikeout record (15) in her opening weekend, the Artesia, N.M., native matched the effort with 15 more against No. 19 Concordia University Irvine on Saturday. Crandall now stands 4-1 in the circle on the year through eight appearances.
Colorado Christian also opens RMAC play with a doubleheader at home against Chadron State on Feb. 18, beginning at noon. The four-game series will be hosted at All Star Park in Lakewood, Colo.

White had a strong weekend at the plate and in the field to lead the Mountain Lions to a 3-1 record against Nebraska-Kearney. White earned eight hits in 13 at-bats for a .615 batting average and a .688 on-base average (11-16). The sophomore also flashed her power, notching two doubles and three home runs with six RBI and six runs scored on the weekend. Defensively, White played three games at third base and one at catcher and was perfect in her 13 total chances with eight putouts and five assists for a 1.000 fielding percentage.

Crandall continued to shine for her team as CCU reached 10 consecutive wins with 6 more victories last weekend. Crandall pitched a complete game shutout against Azusa Pacific on Tuesday, striking out five batters on four hits allowed. She then closed out two wins against Northwest Nazarene with a pair of two-inning performances, picking up the win in the second game with no hits allowed and just one walk. Her best performance came against No. 19 Concordia Irvine, where Crandall led her team to a 10-inning victory with a complete game shutout where she matched her school record of 15 strikeouts. Overall, Crandall struck out 23 batters in four appearances this week, lowering her ERA to 1.70.
