Harrison Rodgers Named RMAC Baseball Academic Player of the Year

2023 RMAC Baseball All-Academic Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – 
Colorado Mesa’s Harrison Rodgers is the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Baseball Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Thursday alongside its All-Academic and Academic Honor Roll lists. The RMAC All-Academic team is nominated and voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
 
Rodgers earns Academic Player of the Year as a junior sports management major for the No. 4 Mavericks. He currently holds a 3.91 grade-point average in his junior season for CMU and does so while leading his squad in hits (55) and home runs (10). The San Diego, Calif., native holds a .367 batting average and has driven in 50 RBI throughout the 2023 season. Rodgers is now a two-time RMAC All-Academic selection.

There are seven institutions represented among the 11 student-athletes on the 2023 RMAC All-Academic First Team. Colorado School of Mines leads the way with a trio of selections in Luke Folsom, Adam Houghtaling and Kevin Zapanta. CMU notches a pair of honorees in Rodgers and Anthony Durbano, while Metropolitan State University of Denver earns two selections of its own in Eric Cox and Jake Williams. Adams State’s Matt Bathauer, Colorado State University Pueblo’s Dylan Weaver, Regis’ Matt Marlow and UCCS’ Kit Wigington round out the first-team roster.
