2023 RMAC Softball All-Academic Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Christian’s Logan Menzies is the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Thursday alongside its All-Academic First Team roster and honor roll list. The RMAC Softball All-Academic team is nominated and voted on by the league’s 12 sports information directors.
 
Menzies has been prolific for the explosive Cougars this season and swatted an impressive 12 home runs with one regular-season series remaining. She has starts in 48 of her 51 appearances on the year and holds a .340 batting average and a .654 slugging percentage. In addition to ranking 22nd nationally for RBI (53), Menzies averages 1.04 RBI per game. She has collected 102 bases on the year and has a .399 on-base percentage for a CCU team that currently ranks No. 9 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll. Not only is Menzies a standout on the diamond, but she is also a high performer in the classroom as a psychology major with a 3.96 grade-point average.
 
Of the seven RMAC institutions represented on the all-academic first team, Colorado Christian leads the way with four honorees in Menzies, Sami Edwards, Kayla Middleton and Kenzie Middleton. Metropolitan State University of Denver accounts for two selections in Audrey Burt and Shelby Robb. Colorado Mesa adds one position in Rylee Crouch, while Lauren Decker represents Colorado School of Mines on the first team. Fort Lewis’ Amiee Shanks, Regis’ Jessi Case and University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Lexi Wagner round out the first-team roster.
 
Robb and Wagner are the lone student-athletes on the first-team roster with a perfect 4.0 GPA as sports management and business majors, respectively.
