Sierra Arceneaux and Audrey Bloomquist Named RMAC Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa’s Sierra Arceneaux and University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Audrey Bloomquist are the Week Three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the league announced Wednesday. Both competed at the CSU Open Invite over the weekend in Pueblo, Colo.
Arceneaux clocked a first-place finish in the 200-meter event and a second-place finish in the 100m race last weekend. She opened the meet with a personal-best time in the 200m race with an altitude-adjusted mark of 23.54. She bested 34 athletes and was 1.1 seconds faster than the second-place finisher in the 200m competition. She then added an 11.49 finish in the 100m event to earn her long NCAA Division II provision effort of the weekend.
The Mavericks will now head to Golden, Colo., for the Kit Meyer Invite, which will begin on Friday, April 7, at Stermole Track and Field Complex.
Bloomquist claimed a first-place finish in the triple jump and a second-place performance in the long jump last weekend. The redshirt junior opened with a personal best of 12.46m (40-10.5 ft) in the triple jump before claiming another career best in the long jump with a mark of 5.88m (19-3.5 ft). Her latest efforts in both the triple and long jump each stand as NCAA DII provisional marks for the 2023 season.
The Mountain Lions will now head to Canyon, Texas, to compete at the Jo Meeker Classic & Multi, which is hosted by West Texas A&M. The three-day event will begin on Thursday, April 6, at WTAMU Track and Field Complex.
Women’s Track Athlete of the Week: Sierra Arceneaux, Colorado Mesa – R-Sr. – Aurora, Colo.
Arceneaux claims the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honor after impressive performances in the 100m and 200m events last weekend. In the 100m race, the redshirt senior was the first NCAA DII athlete to complete the race and did so with a time of 11.49. The mark ranks seventh on the current NCAA DII performance list and currently ranks first in the conference. Arceneaux also currently leads the conference in the 200m dash with her time of 23.54, which is also second on the most recent NCAA DII performance list.

Women’s Field Athlete of the Week: Audrey Bloomquist, UCCS – R-Jr. – Helena, Mont.
Bloomquist earns the Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor after finishing the weekend with a gold medal in the triple jump and a silver medal in the long jump. After fouling on her first effort in the triple jump, Bloomquist ultimately bested nine competitors with a mark of 12.46m, which came on her final attempt, to finish as the lone jumper with a mark above 12 meters. The Helena, Mont., native then competed in the long jump competition where she finished a mere .10m behind the event winner. Bloomquist also competed on the track as part of the Mountain Lions’ 4x100m relay team, which placed first overall with a time of 45.96.
