2022-23 RMAC Men’s Golf All-Academic Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Travis Bossio is the 2022-23 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Academic Men’s Golfer of the Year, the league announced Wednesday alongside its academic honor roll. Bossio earns the Academic Men’s Golfer of the Year honor as a redshirt senior with a 3.96 grade-point average in his computer science degree. The RMAC All-Academic First Team is nominated and voted on by the league’s nine sports information directors. Sports information directors are not allowed to vote for their student-athletes.

Bossio claims the league’s academic honor in his final season with the Mountain Lions after a fantastic showing at the RMAC Men’s Golf Championship where he finished individual play in third place. The redshirt senior shot five strokes under par at the conference championship and fell just two strokes shy of the first-place finisher. He led the way for a UCCS program that clinched a third-place team finish after an incredible opening round, which set the tempo for the three-round event.

A tie in voting resulted in a sixth position being added to the RMAC Men’s Golf All-Academic First Team. Colorado Mesa and UCCS lead the way with two selections apiece. The Mavs’ Yael Chahin and Pablo Diaz earned first-team nods, while Bossio and Brandon Bervig claimed spots for the Mountain Lions. Colorado State University Pueblo is represented by one honoree, Jamie Roberts, while South Dakota Mines’ Braydon Jones, the 2023 RMAC Men’s Golf Summit Award winner, rounds out the all-academic first team. Jones is the lone honoree on the first team boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA for the Hardrockers.
