COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis’ Lily Ferguson is the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Thursday alongside its academic honor roll. Ferguson secures her latest honor with a 3.96 grade-point average as a health and exercise science major for the Rangers. The RMAC All-Academic First Team is nominated and voted on by the league’s six sports information directors. RMAC sports information directors are not permitted to vote for their student-athletes.

Ferguson’s most recent accolade comes on the heels of the Rangers’ RMAC regular-season and tournament title sweep. The junior from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, notched two goals and three assists for the Rangers in the RMAC Tournament and continues her postseason slate Friday as Regis hosts the 2023 NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse Midwest Regional Championship. For the season, she holds 49 points on 30 goals and 19 assists, helping the Rangers to their latest No. 7 national ranking. Ferguson and the Rangers will open the NCAA postseason Friday, May 12, against Grand Valley State at 11 a.m. MT at Regis Lacrosse Field in Denver, Colo. The Rangers took the last meeting 14-10 earlier this season in a neutral-site contest in Grand Junction, Colo. (March 5).

Five RMAC institutions are represented on the 2023 RMAC All-Academic First Team roster with Regis’ four honorees leading the way. Colorado Mesa checks in next with three selections, followed by Fort Lewis and University of Colorado Colorado Springs with two honorees apiece. Colorado State University Pueblo rounds out the first-team squad with one position.

Colorado Mesa’s Taylor Scott, the reigning RMAC Summit Award winner, is the lone student-athlete among the first-team honorees with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
