Colorado School of Mines Captures Seventh Consecutive RMAC All-Sports Cup Title
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines is the winner of the 2022-23 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Sports Cup following a stellar academic year that consisted of five regular-season titles, a berth in the NCAA Division II Football Championship game and the third national title for the men’s cross country program history. The Orediggers led the RMAC’s 15-school contingent with a collective 933 points for their seventh consecutive league title and their eighth RMAC All-Sports Cup in program history.
“Congratulations once again to David Hansburg, Dixie Cirillo, President Paul Johnson and the entire Colorado School of Mines athletic department on capturing their eighth RMAC All-Sports Cup championship in program history,” said RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham. “As a league, the RMAC concluded one of the most historic academic years in league history in 2022-23 and the Orediggers consistently found themselves at the forefront of our league’s success.”
The Orediggers concluded the 2022-23 academic year with a staunch lead, beating the second-place institution by 140.5 points. Colorado Mesa captured a second-place finish with 792.5 points after earning RMAC regular-season titles in seven sports. University of Colorado Colorado Springs rounds out the league’s top-three positions with 789.3 points after securing a trio of RMAC championships.
Colorado State University Pueblo closed the 2022-23 academic year in fourth place with 757.5 points, followed by Metropolitan State University of Denver in fifth place with 654.8 points. Regis secured a sixth-place finish with 653.3 points, while Adams State locked up seventh place with 618 points.
Western Colorado checks in at eighth place with 604 points, followed by Colorado Christian in ninth place with 572.3 points. Westminster sits in 10th place with 547 points, just ahead of Fort Lewis in 11th place with 473.3 points and Chadron State in 12th place with 449 points. Black Hills State (436 points), South Dakota Mines (411.8 points) and New Mexico Highlands (359.8 points) round out the 2022-23 RMAC All-Sports Cup standings.
