COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced its 2023 Football Media Day Kickoff event, which will be hosted in person on Friday, July 28, inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the Denver Tech Center in Denver, Colo. Each of the RMAC’s 10 football programs will participate in a 30-minute media session that is open to media members beginning at 9 a.m. MT inside the Wind River 1 room. The media format will begin with Fort Lewis College and proceed up the 2022 RMAC Football standings.
 
Head coach Johnny Cox and the Skyhawks will get underway at 9 a.m. for a 30-minute session, followed by Adams State at 9:30 a.m., Chadron State at 10 a.m. and New Mexico Highlands at 10:30 a.m.
 
Colorado Mesa’s media block will begin at 11 a.m., immediately followed by Black Hills State at 11:30 a.m., South Dakota Mines at noon and Western Colorado at 12:30 p.m. Colorado State University Pueblo will begin at 1 p.m., while Colorado School of Mines will round out the afternoon starting at 1:30 p.m.
 
In addition to each team’s 30-minute media session, media members will also be able to conduct 1-on-1 interviews with attending coaches and student-athletes. Coordination for 1-on-1 interviews must be done ahead of time with Zack Chavez, RMAC Assistant Commissioner for Strategic Communications, who will also be serving as the moderator for each team’s media session.
 
The RMAC will record the 2023 RMAC Football Media Day Kickoff event and produce a full-length broadcast alongside the 2023 RMAC Football preseason poll on Wednesday, Aug. 9, on the RMAC Network.
 
While the event will be hosted in person, media members that are unable to attend will be granted access to each press conference through the Zoom Q&A feature, similar to the previous two years. Media members planning on attending, both in-person and virtually, are required to email Zack Chavez (zchavez@rmacsports.org) ahead of time in order to register for the event and coordinate appropriate credentials.
