Majok Deng and Tarig Eisa Claim RMAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ (18-3, 12-1 RMAC) Majok Deng and Regis’ (10-9-2, 7-6 RMAC) Tarig Eisa are the Week 10 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Offensive Player of the Week: Majok Deng | Colorado School of Mines | R-Sr. | G | Tucson, Ariz.
Deng was a pivotal force for the No. 14 Orediggers last weekend and lifted his squad to a pair of Mines wins. In Tuesday’s victory over Metropolitan State University of Denver, Deng led all scorers with 18 points. The Colorado School of Mines guard raised his level of play later in the week against Western Colorado and tallied 29 points, four offensive rebounds, four three-point makes and three assists. His 29 points against the Mountaineers were two points shy of his career-high 31 points. With the undefeated weekend, Colorado School of Mines is tied for first place in the RMAC with an enormous matchup against the fellow co-leader Fort Lewis.

This season’s current RMAC leader in blocks (27) notched another impressive shot-blocking showcase for the Regis Rangers over the weekend. The 6’8 big man averaged seven rebounds and sent back six total shots on the weekend. In Regis’ 86-55 win over Chadron State, Eisa set a career-high in blocks with five. Anchored by Eisa, the Rangers held opposing teams to 40.9% and 29% shooting, respectively, last week. Regis currently holds on to sixth place in the latest RMAC standings with games against CSU Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands next on their calendar.
