The RMAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Coaches poll will be revealed Wednesday.
Colorado Mesa garnered all five possible first-place votes and a maximum 25 points. Colorado School of Mines received the other first-place vote and 18 points and was tied for second with Oklahoma Christian.
Simon Fraser followed that trio with 15 points and was fourth in the poll. Texas Permian Basin (eight points) and Adams State (six) rounded out the six-team poll.
Colorado Mesa fields a roster with 11 All-Americans, including seven from last season’s team that claimed the Mavericks sixth-straight RMAC Championship. CMU then went on to finish fifth in the NCAA Division II Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships – the second consecutive year the Mavericks finished fifth at the championships.
Colorado School of Mines continues its chase of the Mavericks after finishing runner up in four of the last five seasons. The Orediggers return two national qualifiers from last season’s team in Ronan Lauinger and Joseph Lev-Tov, with Lauinger claiming All-American honors in the 400 individual medley and the 500-yard freestyle events.
Oklahoma Christian finished 53 points behind Colorado Mines at last season’s RMAC championship. The Eagles return JT Amrein, the 2024 200-yard breaststroke national champion, who won that event and the 100-yard breaststroke at the RMAC championships. OC also brings in transfer Jarod Arroyo from Arizona State to bolster its roster.
The 2024 regular season began Sept. 29 but the ramp up to the 2024 RMAC Swimming & Diving Championships begins in January with the bulk of the league’s teams competing on three consecutive weekends between Jan. 10-26. The 2024 RMAC Championship is set for Feb. 11-15 with Colorado Mesa serving as host in Grand Junction.
