COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its latest RMAC Men’s Golfer of the Week award on Thursday, with Colorado Christian’s Xavier Bighaus claiming the award after a dominant weekend at the WWU Invitational.
Men’s Golfer of the Week: Xavier Bighaus, Colorado Christian (Sr., Melissa, Texas)
Bighaus led the No. 1 ranked Cougars to a historic victory at the Western Washington Invitational at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club while recording a career-best 54-hole score of 203. He opened the tournament with a two-under 70 that included four birdies. Bighaus caught fire in round two, shooting a seven-under 65 with an eagle and five more birdies. He closed the tournament with a four-under 68, including four birdies and another eagle, to finish the event at 13-under and win the individual title by two strokes. With Bighaus’ help, the Cougars recorded a team score of -37 and won a program-record third-straight tournament.
