COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced the Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards on Tuesday. Adams State’s Jude Tapia and University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ William Becker earn the first weekly honors of the 2024-25 RMAC men’s basketball season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Jude Tapia, Adams State (Jr., Guard, Albuquerque, New Mexico)
Tapia put on a show in the Grizzlies’ opening weekend of the 2024-25 men’s basketball season. In an 88-80 win over Western New Mexico, the junior scored 21 points on 64% shooting with three assists. He also did it on the defensive end, recording three steals and five defensive rebounds against the Mustangs. In his next contest, Tapia notched 28 points, with 18 coming from the three-point stripe, leading the Grizzlies to a 95-88 win. On the weekend, the guard averaged 24 points per game on 67/64/100% shooting splits.

Defensive Player of the Week: William Becker, UCCS (Gr., Forward, Aurora, Colorado)
In the Mountain Lions’ opening weekend, Becker dominated the defensive end. He recorded three blocks, two steals, and five defensive rebounds in the season opener, scoring 17 points on 89% shooting. Becker hauled seven defensive rebounds and recorded one block and one steal in the Mountain Lions’ first win against Cameron. On the weekend, the Aurora, Colorado native totaled 27 points, 12 defensive rebounds, four blocks, and three steals.
