COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo defender Shjon Andrews was named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Defensive Player of the Year for an unprecedented third time, highlighting the 2024 All-RMAC Men’s Soccer Teams released Friday.

ThunderWolves midfielder Caio Oliveira earned the league’s Offensive Player of the Year award, while head coach Oliver Twelvetrees is the RMAC Coach of the Year. University of Colorado Colorado Springs goalkeeper Soren Russell earned the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year honor and Fort Lewis midfielder Fabrizio Aguilera is its Freshman of the Year.

The All-RMAC teams and awards are selected by the league’s 11 head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Andrews, Oliveira, and Twelvetrees combined to lead nationally-ranked CSU Pueblo to its second-ever RMAC regular-season title and first since 1999. The ThunderWolves finished their RMAC slate with a 7-1-2 record, winning the title against a field that saw the top five in the standings separated by four points. Andrews, a Longmont, Colorado product, paced a CSU Pueblo defense that allowed only eight goals in conference play and 15 goals over 18 games in the regular season. During the season, he also supplied seven goals and two assists, including four game-winning goals – fifth-most in Division II. With Andrews leading the defense, CSU Pueblo ranked 16th nationally in team goals-against average.

Oliveira, from Espigão d'Oeste, Brazil, led the RMAC with 12 assists and 26 points while scoring seven goals during the regular season, sixth-most in the RMAC. He ranked fourth nationally in assists per game (0.71) and 22nd in points per game (1.53), leading the RMAC in both categories.
Soren Russell, a junior from Bellevue, Washington, posted four shutouts in nine conference games, finishing the league slate with a 0.84 goals-against average. He led the league with a 0.811 save percentage in RMAC action, allowing seven goals on 37 shots on goal. Overall, Russell posted a 0.788 save percentage and 0.86 goals-against average in 17 matches played.

Fort Lewis’ Aguilera, from Montes de Oca, Costa Rico, was a key piece off the bench for the Skyhawks in 2024. He made his mark with a two-goal game at MSU Denver – one of only 10 multi-goal games in the RMAC this season. He also had a two-goal game against Montana State Billings in September and finished the season with four goals and an assist.

CSU Pueblo head coach Oliver Twelvetrees is the RMAC Coach of the Year for the first time after leading the ThunderWolves to their second-ever RMAC regular-season title and the first under his tenure. He has led the ThunderWolves to 12-plus wins each of his four seasons in Pueblo, leading his program to Division II National Championship runner-up finishes each of the past two seasons.
