Tapia and Erhart Named RMAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week 2 RMAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards on Tuesday. Adams State’s Jude Tapia secures his second straight Offensive Player of the Week award, while Fort Lewis’ Stewart Erhart claims the league’s Defensive Player of the Week honor.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Jude Tapia, Adams State (Jr., Guard, Albuquerque, New Mexico)
Tapia earns his second RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honor of the 2024-25 season after leading the Grizzlies to a 1-1 weekend. In the Grizzlies double overtime thriller against Midwestern State, Tapia exploded for 36 points on 45% shooting. The junior was a major threat from three, knocking home eight three-pointers in 47 minutes. When he wasn’t scoring, Tapia was distributing the ball well, recording five of Adams State’s 25 assists. The Albuquerque, New Mexico native’s 36 points are the highest point total in the RMAC this season, beating out Kendard Richardson’s 34 points the previous week.

Defensive Player of the Week: Stewart Erhart, Fort Lewis (R-Fr., Guard, Fairbanks, Alaska)
Erhart was all over opposing defenses over the weekend as the Skyhawks defended home court in the Skyhawks Hardwood Classic. In the weekend’s opening contest, the redshirt freshman stole the ball four times, contributing to Fort Lewis’ 29 points off turnovers. He continued this defensive attack in the weekend's second game, nabbing three more steals. In 45 minutes of game time, Erhart recorded 10 rebounds, seven steals, and six assists.
