COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Colorado’s Cole Hernandez is the RMAC Men’s Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Wednesday. The redshirt senior captures his first weekly award of the 2024-25 season following a conference win over New Mexico Highlands.
Men’s Wrestler of the Week: Cole Hernandez, Western Colorado (R-Sr., 174, Pueblo, Colorado)
The No. 3 ranked wrestler at 174 pounds had an outstanding week for the Mountaineers, as he went 2-0. In the Mountaineer’s first dual of the week, Hernandez posted a 17-4 major decision win over Nebraska Kearney’s 10th-ranked Kaden Hart. In the Mountaineer’s RMAC opener, Hernandez notched another win with a second-period pin (4:24) while leading 10-1 over New Mexico Highlands’ Zackary Small. Western Colorado defeated New Mexico Highlands 47-3 to improve their record to 1-1.
