COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week 3 RMAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards on Monday. Westminster’s Chase Potter and Fort Lewis’ Chuol Deng earn the league’s latest weekly honors, claiming the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week Awards, respectively.
Offensive Player of the Week: Chase Potter, Westminster (Sr., Guard, Layton, Utah)
Potter was lighting up opposing defenses as Westminster split their two-game set 1-1. In Thursday’s contest against Western Washington, Potter played 37 minutes, logging 19 points on 100% shooting from the three-point line. With the score tied, Potter continued his hot shooting, hitting a near halfcourt buzzer-beater to give the Griffins a three-point win and improve to 3-1 on the season. In the double overtime thriller against Simon Fraser, he recorded 44 minutes of action, notching 30 points on 52% shooting and seven rebounds. Potter recorded 49 points (24.5 points per game) while shooting 51% from the field.
