COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its 2024-25 RMAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Watch List on Monday, with 17 student-athletes featured on this year’s list.

The 2024-25 RMAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Watch List includes any returning First and Second Team All-RMAC selections and the top player on each team without a returning All-RMAC selection, as nominated by their institution.

Last month, the RMAC Preseason Coaches' Poll picked Colorado School of Mines to win the 2024-25 regular-season title, followed by Metropolitan State University of Denver and Regis.

Pacing the 2024-25 Men’s Basketball Players to Watch List is Colorado School of Mines guard Majok Deng, a 2023-24 RMAC Men’s Basketball First Team All-Conference selection. Deng led the Orediggers to a third-place finish in the RMAC last season after finishing the season 24-9. In his first season with the Orediggers, the graduate student averaged 17.2 points per game on 44, 43, and 84 percent shooting splits. Deng was also recognized nationally, earning Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second Team All-South Central Region and National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Second Team All-District roster spots.

Colorado School of Mines also returns the reigning RMAC Freshman of the Year, Alex Romack. In his first collegiate season, Romack averaged 8.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 24.6 minutes per game. The forward’s rebounding average led the Orediggers last season, while his 225 total rebounds ranked third in RMAC. As a true freshman, Romack scored in double figures 14 times, recorded seven games with double-digit rebounds, and recorded six double-doubles.

Caleb McGill returns to the court for Metropolitan State University of Denver after earning a 2023-24 First Team All-RMAC roster spot. The forward finished last season averaging 15.7 points and 5.4 rebounds, leading his squad to a fifth-place finish in the conference. McGill is one of the league’s best shooters, as he shot 53% from the field in 2023-24, a number that ranked seventh in the RMAC.

Another one of the league’s leading scorers highlights the watchlist as Chase Mayo Harmon suits up for Regis. Mayo Harmon took a significant leap last season, averaging 16 points per game compared to 3.9 the season before. The junior improved in almost every statistical category last season, ranking third in the conference in three-point percentage (41%), and led the Rangers to a 15-14 overall record. Behind Mayo Harmon, Regis finished sixth in the conference last season.

The complete RMAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Watch List follows. The 2024-25 men’s basketball season has already started, with Fort Lewis participating in the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic last weekend. Conference play will begin Tuesday, Dec. 3, with Black Hills State facing in-state foe South Dakota Mines. The 2025 RMAC Men’s Basketball Tournament will take place on March 4-8 on the campus of the highest seed. Following that, the 2025 NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Championship will begin March 25 at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana. The tournament will conclude on the 29th with the championship game.
