COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week 4 RMAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards on Monday. New Mexico Highland’s Kenard Richardson earns the league’s latest Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Regis’ Trey Bryant grabs the Defensive Player of the Week award.
Offensive Player of the Week: Kenard Richardson, New Mexico Highlands (Sr., Forward, Richmond, Virginia)
Richardson led the Cowboys to a 2-0 weekend as New Mexico Highlands defeated Western New Mexico and Western Colorado. In Tuesday’s matchup against the Mustangs, Richardson scored 19 points on 58% shooting. In addition to his scoring total, the Richmond, Virginia native grabbed five offensive rebounds, one assist, and a three-point make. Richardson kept his offensive output going against conference foe Western Colorado, scoring 17 points on 64% shooting while collecting eight total rebounds and three assists. With the help of Richardson, New Mexico Highlands sits atop the early season RMAC standings with a record of 6-1.

Defensive Player of the Week: Trey Bryant, Regis (Sr., Guard, Springfield, Oregon)
Bryant showcased his defensive ability against Northern New Mexico and Saint Martin’s as Regis split their games over the weekend. In Friday’s contest against Northern New Mexico, Bryant recorded five defensive rebounds, two blocks, and one steal, leading Regis to a 58-53 victory. As a squad, the Rangers limited the Eagles to 35% shooting and forced 14 turnovers. The next day, Bryant recorded two more blocks, another steal, and five more defensive rebounds, as the Rangers fell to Saint Martin’s 76-71. For the weekend, the Springfield, Oregon native tallied 48 minutes of action, 22 points, 13 total rebounds, four blocks, and two steals.
