COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week 7 RMAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards on Monday. Fort Lewis’ Biko Johnson claims the latest Offensive Player of the Week award as Christopher Speller earns Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Biko Johnson, Fort Lewis (Sr., Guard, Carson, California)
Johnson powered Fort Lewis to a 76-69 win over then-ranked No. 8 West Texas A&M. In the Skyhawks impressive victory, the Carson, California native recorded an NCAA career-high 27 points on 43% shooting. In addition to his scoring output, Johnson tallied eight rebounds, five assists, five steals, and one block in a game-high 35 minutes. The guard also went 13-15 from the charity stripe, going 6-6 in the final 1:30 of action to secure the game's final lead change and hold off the Buffaloes. The guard is averaging 16.2 points in the season, ranking fourth in the RMAC.

Defensive Player of the Week: Christopher Speller, Colorado Mesa (R-Sr., Guard, Denver, Colorado)
Speller propelled the Mavericks to a 2-0 week at the River City Holiday Classic in San Antonio, Texas, hosted by Pittsburg State. The redshirt senior started the week with a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double against Central Oklahoma, leading the Mavericks to a 77-71 victory. Speller then recorded two steals and four rebounds in 31 minutes of action in CMU’s win against Pittsburg State. The Denver, Colorado native tallied 17 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and five steals in 65 minutes of play.
