Colorado School of Mines’ Jules Hays and Simon Fraser’s Randon Hall Tabbed 2024 RMAC Swimming and Diving Summit Award Winners

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ Jules Hays and Simon Fraser’s Randon Hall are the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Summit Award winners, the league announced Tuesday. Hays claims the RMAC Women’s Summit Award with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average as a quantitative biosciences and engineering major. Hall earns the RMAC Men’s Summit Award with a 4.0 GPA in mathematical physics.
 
Hays has competed in seven regular-season meets for the Orediggers throughout the 2023-24 academic year. She has been instrumental in helping her squad secure a trio of dual victories ahead of the 2024 RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships. The senior has been impressive for the Mines roster, primarily in the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle and butterfly events.
 
Hall claims the men’s award with a perfect GPA for Simon Fraser as the Red Leafs make final preparations for their first appearance at the RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships. The junior claims the award as a participant in the butterfly and freestyle races and aims to make a splash against RMAC competition throughout the week. He has competed in six meets for the Simon Fraser program throughout the 2023-24 academic year.
 
The RMAC Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA who is also competing at the site of the finals for their respective sport’s championship. Summit Award winners must have competed in 20 percent of available competitions throughout the current season. All GPAs are based on a straight-grading scale to ensure consistency among nominees. All ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently completed semester.
 
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above, academically, and have participated in their sport at their institution for at least two years. Student-athletes must be active members of their teams, traveling and competing at the RMAC championship event.
