Matthew Ragsdale and Trevor Baskin Claim Week 13 RMAC Men’s Basketball Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State’s (13-11, 11-7 RMAC) Matthew Ragsdale and Colorado Mesa’s (21-3, 17-1 RMAC) Trevor Baskin are the Week 13 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Matthew Ragsdale | Black Hills State | Gr. | G | Colorado Springs, Colo.
Ragsdale was dominant in Black Hills State’s undefeated home weekend. In the first game of the weekend against University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Ragsdale tallied 19 points in 37 minutes played, leading all players in minutes. In the Yellow Jackets’ second win of the weekend, the Colorado Springs, Colo., native erupted for 29 points and five three-point makes on 60% shooting from the field. On the weekend, Ragsdale averaged 24 points on 45% shooting from the field. With their pair of wins, BHSU moves up to the fourth seed in the RMAC standings.

Defensive Player of the Week: Trevor Baskin | Colorado Mesa | R-Jr. | F | Arvada, Colo.
Baskin was instrumental in Colorado Mesa’s journey to take down two top-four conference opponents this weekend. The Arvada, Colo., native averaged 21 points, nine monster rebounds and an imposing four blocks per game. Baskin recorded a CMU season-high six blocks against Metropolitan State University of Denver, swatting the first Roadrunner shot on the opening play of the game. The Mavericks currently rank ninth nationally in Division II and are tied for the top spot in the RMAC. With one final road trip left this season, Colorado Mesa aims to take sole possession of the league’s top seed and host the 2024 RMAC Men’s Basketball Tournament.
