CSU Pueblo’s Caira Lessick and Colorado Mesa’s Kelsey Viger Capture Week Three RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo’s Caira Lessick and Colorado Mesa’s Kelsey Viger are the Week Three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week, the league announced Monday. Lessick and Viger each earn their first weekly honors of the 2024 season.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Caira Lessick | CSU Pueblo | Gr. | M | Oregon City, Ore.
Lessick starred in three of the Pack’s four games last week and racked up an incredible 14 goals and two assists for 16 points along the way. She closed the stretch with 18 shots and placed 15 of those on target while adding six ground balls and 19 draw controls in the midfield for the ThunderWolves. She scored goals in all three of her appearances and tied CSU Pueblo single-game records with 10 goals and 11 points against Tiffin. For the week, she averaged 4.7 goals and 5.33 points per game and is currently tied for fourth place among the Pack’s all-time goal scorers with 89 throughout her career.

Defensive Player of the Week: Kelsey Viger | Colorado Mesa | R-Sr. | D | Savage, Minn.  
Viger recorded three ground balls and four caused turnovers in each of her two appearances for the Mavericks over the weekend. The redshirt senior was a staple for the Colorado Mesa defense in a pair of wins over Fort Lewis to seven goals as a team and CSU Pueblo to four goals. For the year, Viger is averaging 2.8 caused turnovers per contest, which leads the RMAC this year. Additionally, she found herself on the attack against Fort Lewis and tallied a goal for herself in the 16-7 win over the Skyhawks.
