Josey Ryan and Olivia Reed Collect Last RMAC Women’s Basketball Weekly Honors of the Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis’ (23-5, 18-4 RMAC) Josey Ryan and Colorado Mesa’s (24-5, 18-4 RMAC) Olivia Reed are the final Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the 2023-24 season, the league announced Monday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Josey Ryan | Regis | Gr. | G | La Vista, Neb.
There's no doubt that Ryan’s dominance on the court led the Rangers to a share of their second consecutive RMAC regular season championship. The La Vista, Neb., native took over offensively against Colorado State University Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands, averaging 22.0 points per game on 51.6% shooting as well as notching two assists. In addition, Ryan caused issues for opposing offenses, controlling the boards to grab 11 total rebounds in the final two games of the regular season slate. The graduate student showed off her defensive prowess as well, nabbing nine total steals against the Pack and Cowgirls this weekend.

Defensive Player of the Week: Olivia Reed | Colorado Mesa | So. | F | Windsor, Colo.
Reed blocked eight shots in the final weekend of the regular season, including a career-high of five in the Mavs’ win over Western Colorado that clinched the top seed in the RMAC Tournament. She added 30 points and 16 rebounds in the regular season finale, notching her 11th double-double of the season. The sophomore dominated the glass to finish the regular season strong, grabbing 13 boards in their penultimate game of the year against Westminster. While Reed’s defensive was excellent, she was also efficient offensively, going 57.5% from the field and averaging 22.0 points per game. Heading into postseason play, she leads the conference in field-goal percentage at .583.
