COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Black Hills State’s (16-12, 14-8 RMAC) Matthew Ragsdale and Metropolitan State University of Denver’s (19-9, 13-9 RMAC) Mario Lacy, Jr. are the Week 15 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Matthew Ragsdale | Black Hills State | Gr. | G | Colorado Springs, Colo.
Ragsdale continued to impose his will on opposing defenses, as he led the Yellow Jackets to an undefeated final weekend in the regular season. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native posted back-to-back 30-point game performances, giving him three-consecutive 30+ point outings. The graduate student got the weekend started with his first 30-point game against Colorado Christian. On top of his scoring, Ragsdale tallied six three-point makes on 46% shooting, pushing BHSU to a 65-56 victory. The RMAC’s leading point scorer (634/22.6ppg) continued his hot streak the very next day against Chadron State. Against the Eagles, Ragsdale recorded 36 points, five three point makes and only one turnover in 42 minutes of action. On the weekend, he averaged 33 points per game on 52% and 48% shooting splits. The Yellow Jackets enter the 2024 RMAC Men’s Basketball Tournament as the No. 4 overall seed and the proud owners of a first round home game against the fifth-seeded Roadrunners.

Defensive Player of the Week: Mario Lacy, Jr. | MSU Denver | Sr. | F | Cleveland, Ohio
Lacy surpassed the 1,000-rebound threshold for the Roadrunners en route to a 1-1 weekend. The senior forward, who ranks third among all active NCAA Division II players in career boards, posted his 29th career double-double in a senior night victory against Adams State. In the regular season finale, the Cleveland, Ohio, native posted a stat line of 14 points, 11 rebounds, one block and a steal on 63% shooting. At the conclusion of the regular season, the senior ranks second in the conference in both rebounds (8.0) and field goal percentage (63.4%). Behind Lacy’s superb defense, the Roadrunners secured the No. 5 seed in the 2024 RMAC Men’s Basketball Tournament and travel to Spearfish, S.D. to take on Black Hills State.
