COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chadron State’s Quentrevion Campbell is the 2023-24 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Wrestler of the Year, the league announced Monday alongside its other major awards and All-Conference rosters. In addition to his RMAC Wrestler of the Year honor, Campbell headlines the league’s all-conference rosters as a first-team member in the 133-pound weight class. Of the 20 student-athletes recognized among the RMAC All-Conference rosters, seven institutions are represented.

Campbell was voted the RMAC Wrestler of the Year after leading No. 14 Chadron State (10-1, 8-0 RMAC) to its first conference title since the 1995 season. The redshirt senior enters the postseason ranked No. 2 nationally, according to the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association rankings, with an impressive 17-1 individual record. The Tifton, Ga., native was perfect in all seven of his matches in RMAC duals on the season, winning two of those by major decision. He has secured his spot at the upcoming national championship after taking first over the weekend in the 133-pound class at the NCAA Division II Region VI Championships.

Colorado School of Mines’ Wyatt Reisz is the RMAC Freshman of the Year after closing out the regular season ranked No. 14 nationally as an individual in the 174-pound weight class. The freshman locked up 17 wins in his collegiate debut season, tied for second-best among the Mines roster. He scored six tech fall victories to his name throughout the regular season and held a 17-6 individual record ahead of the NCAA postseason and stands as the lone freshman among the RMAC All-Conference rosters.

Chadron State head coach Brett Hunter is the RMAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Eagles to their first RMAC title in program history. His squad cruised through RMAC action and steamrolled the league on the way to a flawless 8-0 record in conference duals. Hunter led his roster to a 10-1 overall record in regular-season duals and entered the NCAA DII Super Region VI Championships ranked No. 14 in the nation. Hunter will now head to the national stage and guide a pair of contenders, Campbell (133 pounds) and Ethan Leake (141 pounds), on their journey to national titles.

Of the league’s seven institutions represented among the RMAC All-Conference rosters, Western Colorado leads the way with five honorees. Adams State, Chadron State, Colorado Mesa and Colorado School of Mines each secured a trio of all-conference selections. New Mexico Highlands captured two all-conference spots, while San Francisco State rounded out the rosters with one honoree.

Following the weekend’s regional championship, the RMAC will send 21 competitors to the 2024 NCAA Division II Men’s Wrestling Championship. The national championship will be a two-day event beginning on Friday, March 15, inside Hartman Arena in Wichita, Kan.
