COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa’s Justine Anderson and Kelsey Viger are the Week Seven Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week, the league announced Monday. Anderson and Viger claim the sweep for Colorado Mesa after leading the Mavericks to a pair of dominant wins over Fort Lewis and Colorado State University Pueblo last weekend.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Justine Anderson | Colorado Mesa | So. | M/A | Colorado Springs, Colo.
Anderson logged a career-high seven goals in a 17-6 win over Fort Lewis on Friday when she landed nine of her 12 shots on target. She also dished out an assist to close out the win over the Skyhawks with an impressive eight points and a .750 shots-on-goal percentage. Two days later, she tallied eight more points on four goals and one assist in a 16-3 win over CSU Pueblo. Against the ThunderWolves, she landed six of her eight shots on frame to go along with two ground balls and one caused turnover.

Defensive Player of the Week: Kelsey Viger | Colorado Mesa | R-Sr. | D | Savage, Minn.  
Viger was critical for the Mavs’ defense in a pair of wins where Colorado Mesa limited its two opponents to a combined nine goals. Against Fort Lewis, the redshirt senior racked up eight ground balls and five caused turnovers. She then closed out the weekend with an astounding seven caused turnovers to go along with two ground balls and one goal on one shot in the win over CSU Pueblo. Viger’s latest defensive honor marks the third of the season for the Savage, Minn., native.
