COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Westminster’s (11-2, 7-1 RMAC) Merrit McMahon and Colorado Mesa’s (10-4, 7-1 RMAC) Dylan Checketts are the Week Eight Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Merrit McMahon | Westminster | 5-Yr. | A | Bainbridge Island, Wash.
McMahon was undeniably great for the Griffins over the weekend. The Bainbridge Island, Wash., native was the RMAC’s top scorer, as he recorded 12 goals and two assists for 14 total points. In Friday’s matchup against Colorado State University Pueblo, McMahon tallied seven of his 12 goals on 10 total shots. He followed up this outing with a five-goal performance against Adams State. On the season, McMahon leads the RMAC in goals per game (3.77) and points per game (5.23). Behind the fifth-year attack, the Griffins earned the 2024 RMAC Men’s Lacrosse Regular-Season Co-Champions title.

Defensive Player of the Week: Dylan Checketts | Colorado Mesa | Sr. | FO | Herriman, Utah
Checketts was a formidable force for the Mavericks in their pair of road games against Adams State and CSU Pueblo. In CMU’s first matchup of the weekend, Checketts recorded a game-high six ground balls and eight faceoff wins, guiding the Mavs to a 17-8 victory. Against the ThunderWolves, the Herriman, Utah native racked up five more ground balls and nine faceoff victories, pacing the Mavericks to a standout win. With the help of Checketts, CMU earned the title of 2024 RMAC Men’s Lacrosse Regular-Season Co-Champions title.
