CSU Pueblo Seizes 2023-24 RMAC Women’s Golf Yearly Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo’s Kylie Severin is the 2023-24 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Year, announced Thursday along with the All-Conference First and Second Teams. The sixteen All-Conference selections were determined based on this season’s NCAA Clippd National Rankings, with eight individuals on each team. The ThunderWolves’ Lisa Ekberg earned Freshman of the Year, while head coach Tammy Lim was named Coach of the Year in her first season at the helm.
Severin secured the Golfer of the Year, highlight by three individual wins in 2023-24. The senior notched medalist honors at the 2024 RMAC Championships, tying for third place. Severin claimed a spot on the All-Region team and adds the top honor from the RMAC to her excellent senior season. Additionally, the Aurora, Colo., native led the ThunderWolves to consecutive RMAC Championships and NCAA Super Regional appearances.
Ekberg is the Freshman of the Year in her debut season with the Pack. The Swede also was a medalist at the RMAC Championships, tying for third place. Ekberg knocked down the most birdies in the field, draining 12 over 54 holes. She saved her best for last, contributing four of her birdies to a final round 73 (+1), to help the Pack put the finishing touches on the RMAC crown.
Lim receives the Coach of the Year award in her first season at the helm of the CSU Pueblo women’s program. Lim has been around the program since 2022, but officially took on the head coaching role this season. She guided the ThunderWolves to their second straight RMAC title and fifth overall, the most by any RMAC institution. The championship clinched another automatic bid to the NCAA Super Regionals and finished sixth to complete year one.
CSU Pueblo headlines the selections with five, while Regis follows with three honorees. Colorado Christian, Metropolitan State University of Denver and South Dakota Mines each garnered two selections. Chadron State and Colorado Mesa round out the All-Conference rosters with one student-athlete apiece.
