Regis’ Lily Ferguson Named RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year
2024 RMAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Academic Release
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis’ Lily Ferguson is the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Wednesday alongside its All-Academic First Team roster. Ferguson headlines the list of first-team honorees as a senior with a 3.97 grade-point average as a health and exercise science major. Ferguson leads a list of 12 honorees among the first team, which includes 12 student-athletes from five of the league’s member institutions. The RMAC All-Academic First Team is nominated and voted on by the league’s six sports information directors. Sports information directors are not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes.
Ferguson was incredible for the Rangers all year and led her squad to a semifinal appearance at the 2024 NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The Maple Ridge, British Columbia, native finished the season with 56 points on 40 goals and 16 assists. She started in all 22 of her appearances for the Rangers and captured a .875 shots-on-goal percentage to go along with a .625 shooting average. Eleven of those 40 goals came on free-position situations and accompanied 31 caused turnovers and 99 draw controls.
Regis leads the way among the RMAC All-Academic First Team with five honorees, while Colorado Mesa checks in next with four first-team selections. Colorado State University Pueblo, Fort Lewis and University of Colorado Colorado Springs round out the first team with one honoree apiece.
Of the 12 honorees on the first team, five student-athletes hold perfect 4.0 GPAs, including Justine Anderson, Taylor Scott, Madeline Schallmoser, Terah Skillings and Madison McGriff.
