DENVER, Colo. – For the second consecutive year, Colorado Mesa’s Taylor Scott is the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Summit Award winner, the league announced Friday. Scott earns the honor after maintaining her perfect 4.0 grade-point average as a counseling psychology major.

Scott will embark on the postseason journey with No. 2 seed Colorado Mesa, beginning with a RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament semifinal matchup Friday evening at Regis Lacrosse Field in Denver, Colo. The senior has been perfect throughout her academic career and has earned 108 credit hours through her most recently completed term. Her success spans from the classroom to the lacrosse field, where she started in all 15 of Colorado Mesa’s regular-season competitions. The midfielder has scooped up 18 ground balls and caused 10 turnovers this season, helping the Mavericks close RMAC play with an 8-2 record.

The Mavs’ postseason gets underway Friday, May 3, in a RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament semifinal matchup against No. 3 seed University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Opening faceoff is slated for 7 p.m. MT on the campus of Regis University. All three games of the RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament will be broadcast live on the RMAC Network for $9.95 per day pass. Each day pass grants viewers access to all games on that given day.

The RMAC Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA who is also competing at the site of the finals for their respective sport’s championship. Summit Award winners must have competed in 20 percent of available competitions throughout the current season. All GPAs are based on a straight-grading scale to ensure consistency among nominees. All ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently completed semester.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above and have participated in their sport at their institution for at least two years. Student-athletes must be active members of their teams, traveling and competing at the RMAC championship event. Graduate students are eligible to win the award.
