COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
Colorado Mesa’s Justin Thompson has been named the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Academic Athlete of the Year for the 2024 season. The 2024 RMAC Men’s Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic First Team roster was announced alongside Thompson's honor. The Academic Athlete of the Year Award and All-Academic First Team roster selections are voted on by the league's 13 sports information directors.

Thompson claims his second RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Academic Athlete of the Year Award, and fifth total, with a flawless 4.0 grade-point average in athletic training.  Thompson continued to be one of the league's best jumpers, as he recorded the second and fifth-best performances in the RMAC this season, with marks of 7.61 meters and 14.80m, respectively.
