COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa women’s swimming and diving student-athlete Lauren White is the 2023-24 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the league announced Monday. White claims the award after an incredible year for the Mavericks in which she earned a pair of national titles in relay events at the 2024 NCAA Division II Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships. At that same event, her performances powered her team to a program-best second-place finish. The redshirt senior holds a 3.82 grade-point average as a business administration major at Colorado Mesa.

After an incredible campaign in the pool for the Mavericks’, White claims the RMAC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor for the first time in her career. The Golden, Colo., native is the most decorated student-athlete in Colorado Mesa history with 30 career All-America honors and bolstered her case with a slew of accolades in the 2023-24 campaign. She boosted the Mavs’ 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle relay teams to national titles during the NCAA DII Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships and also earned a pair of top-three finishes in the 800-yard freestyle relay and the 100-yard backstroke disciplines.

Following her stellar redshirt senior season, White captured seven All-America accolades, the most an individual can secure in a single season. She secured RMAC titles in the 200-yard, 400-yard and 800-yard freestyle relay events, helping her squad set RMAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship records in each event. Upon the conclusion of the conference championship, she walked away with seven RMAC all-conference distinctions, five first-team and two second-team.

She was also crowned a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American, adding to her list of academic honors this year, which includes a RMAC All-Academic First Team nod and a CSCAA First Team Scholar All-American distinction.

White will now be honored at the 2024 RMAC Hall of Fame Ceremony and Awards Banquet on Thursday, July 11, inside the Colorado Springs Marriott in Colorado Springs, Colo. Doors will open at 5 p.m. MT with the awards and induction ceremony to begin at 6 p.m.
