COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Shelby Robb is the 2023-24 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Woman of the Year, the league announced Tuesday. Robb claims the award after closing a superb season with the MSU Denver softball team, in which she was extremely active both on and off of the diamond. Robb holds a perfect 4.0 grade-point average as a sport management major with a minor in business.
Robb was a constant representative of MSU Denver throughout the 2023-24 academic year and led the Roadrunners to a 43-18 overall record on the season. She claimed a pair of First Team All-America honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) after earning All-Region honors from each respective organization.
Robb was also excellent in the classroom and headlined the College Sports Communicators Division (CSC) II Academic All-America team as the Team Member of the Year. She earned a spot on the CSC Academic All-America First Team for the second consecutive year in 2024 and did so while leading the Roadrunners to three wins at the RMAC Softball Tournament.
In addition to her endeavors on the diamond, Robb has committed a wealth of her time to the community while pursuing her degree. She is a consistent volunteer with the Miracle League of Denver, a non-profit organization in the Denver metro area that provides children and adults, who are living with various disabilities, an opportunity to play baseball and softball as a team member in an organized league. Further, she was voted the 2024 MSU Denver Senior Female Athlete of the Year.
She has also volunteered with organizations such as Operation Christmas Child, Girlz Inc. of Metro Denver, Hearthstone and Hover Crossing, Houses for Warriors and Cardz for Kidz, among many others. Robb spearheaded a social media campaign for MSU Denver’s Women in Sport Management Panel, which showcased influential women in sports within the Colorado sports industry.
The Arvada, Colo., native is a three-time NFCA and D2CCA South Central All-Region honoree and is currently the program leader with a .425 career batting average and ranks fifth among all active NCAA DII competitors for career doubles (64) and is also seventh among all active NCAA softball student-athletes for doubles.
Robb will now be honored at the 2024 RMAC Hall of Fame Ceremony and Awards Banquet on Thursday, July 11, inside the Colorado Springs Marriott in Colorado Springs, Colo. Doors will open at 5 p.m. MT with the awards and induction ceremony to begin at 6 p.m.
