COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference has announced the hiring of Audrey Bloomquist as the Director for Championships and Marketing, the league announced Wednesday. Bloomquist joins the RMAC after completing a decorated five-year career as a student-athlete for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women’s track & field program.

“Through a very competitive process, Audrey stood out with her broad marketing and event administration experiences, professionalism, deep knowledge of our member institutions and a passion for elevating the experiences of our student-athletes,” RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham said. “We are all aware of her historic success as a track and field student-athlete in the RMAC, but throughout the hiring process she established herself as a talented marketer and administrator.”

Throughout her time as a student-athlete at UCCS, she was engaged in a wide array of initiatives, including the UCCS Mountain Lion Strong program and the UCCS Sport Management Activity Council. Additionally, she completed an extensive list of internships, including roles at Farrell Sports, USA Wrestling and Colorado College’s Ed Robson Arena. Throughout each of her professional endeavors, she has accumulated an array of knowledge and experience as an excellent marketer and events operations administrator.

“I am honored to accept the position of Director for Championships and Marketing at the RMAC and earn the opportunity to serve its outstanding member institutions,” Bloomquist stated. “The RMAC has supported my development as an individual, athlete and professional and I am excited to positively contribute to the lives of current and future student-athletes.”

Bloomquist steps into the RMAC office after a storied career as a student-athlete for the Mountain Lions. While attending UCCS, she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees while also competing for five years in the track and field program. Upon completing her career as a student-athlete, she graduated summa cum laude from UCCS with a business major and a dual emphasis in sports management and marketing. During her final year with UCCS, she completed a graduate assistant program where she worked within the Mountain Lions’ athletic department to facilitate communications and marketing efforts.

“Audrey brings a wealth of experience in marketing and event management to the RMAC, along with her incredible passion for amplifying the student-athlete voice,” said RMAC Associate Commissioner Lexie Vernon. “Her collection of awards as an RMAC student-athlete is just the tip of the iceberg of what she has to offer the RMAC membership. With her innovative ideas, leadership skills, and dedication to excellence, Audrey is poised to make a significant impact. We are excited to see her contributions enhance our efforts and inspire others within the RMAC community.”

Bloomquist will begin her duties with the league on July 1, 2024, ahead of the 2024-25 academic school year.
