CCU’s Adam Duncan and CSU Pueblo’s Alyssa McMillen Claim Week One RMAC Golf Weekly Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week One RMAC Men’s and Women’s Golfer of the Week awards on Thursday. Colorado Christian’s Adam Duncan claims the award on the men’s side, while Colorado State University Pueblo’s Alyssa McMillen earns the honor on the women’s side.
 
Men’s Golfer of the Week: Adam Duncan, Colorado Christian (Sr., Bakersfield, Calif.)
Duncan picked up right where he left off last spring as the Cougars opened the season at the Colorado Writz at Mile High. With a first-round 65, Duncan carried his momentum into the second round, shooting a 70. The Bakersfield, California native was rolling in the final round, firing off another 65. Duncan finished the tournament at 16-under par and claimed the individual title. Behind Duncan, CCU won the tournament by 57 strokes.
 
Honorable Mention: Cole Beyer, Colorado Mesa; Marius Dosiere, CSU Pueblo, Matai Naqica, South Dakota Mines.
 
Women’s Golfer of the Week: Alyssa McMillen, CSU Pueblo (5-Yr., Garden City, Kan.)
McMillen led the way for the ThunderWolves in her CSU Pueblo debut. The Garden City, Kansas native finished the opening round with a score of 70, which was good enough for second. She followed that with a 73 in Round 2, moving her to one-under for the tournament and a runner-up finish. With the help of McMillen, CSU Pueblo claimed victory in the season’s first tournament by nine strokes.
