CMU’s Scoggin & Hermanson Claim RMAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards

Scoggin claimed five event wins during the past month, Hermanson won the 1-meter diving event against Utah

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University senior Andrew Scoggin and junior Wyatt Hermanson claimed the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Swimming & Diving Weekly Honors, respectively, on Wednesday.
 
Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Andrew Scoggin, Colorado Mesa (Senior, Greely, Colorado)
Scoggin claims his second RMAC Swimmer of the Week honor after winning four events at the UNLV Invitational before the holiday break and then claiming a win in the Mavericks dual against Utah last weekend. At UNLV, he claimed an individual win in the 100 backstroke (46.91) and set a personal best and “B” qualifying time of 20.24 in the 50 freestyle. Scoggin then was a member of CMU’s winning relay teams in the 200 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 freestyle relay. The Mavericks tied a program record with a 1:19.09 in the 200 freestyle relay. After the break, Scoggin won the 100 backstroke event in a dual against Utah.

Men’s Diver of the Week
Wyatt Hermanson, Colorado Mesa (Junior, Mandan, North Dakota)
Hermanson won the 1-meter diving event in Colorado Mesa’s dual meet against Utah last weekend. He posted a career-best 287.03 in the six-dive competition, again surpassing the NCAA Pre-Championship qualification mark. Hermanson finished second in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 273.00.
