COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Chadron State’s Esther Peters is the RMAC Women’s Wrestler of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. Peters defeated a conference opponent in a dual and took home a tournament title for the Eagles.
Women’s Wrestler of the Week: Esther Peters, Chadron State (Fr., 207, McKinney, Texas)
Peters had an impressive weekend for the Eagles, going undefeated without being scored on. The freshman entered the week ranked fifth in the National Wrestling Coaches Association’s Regional Rankings at 207 pounds. On Friday, Peters defeated Isabeau Shalack of Colorado Mesa, 8-0, in their dual, scoring four points in each period. The following day, the McKinney, Texas native claimed the 207-pound title at the York Open. In the championship bout, Peters cruised to a 10-0 tech fall over Fort Hays State’s Grace Johns.
