COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its latest RMAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week awards on Monday. Regis guard Kobe Sanders earns the Offensive Player of the Week honor, while Fort Lewis guard Tru Allen claims the defensive honor.
Offensive Player of the Week: Kobe Sanders, Regis (Gr., Guard, Denver, Colorado)
Sanders led the Rangers to impressive wins over Colorado School of Mines and Metropolitan State University of Denver, the two top teams in the conference. Sanders started the weekend with a 12-point outing against the Roadrunners. The graduate student distributed the rock well, collecting three assists in the 78-76 victory. In Saturday’s matchup against the Orediggers, Sanders exploded for a career-high 28 points and eight assists, leading the Rangers to a 94-91 win. On the week, the guard averaged 20 points per game on a 58/57/33 percent shooting split and recorded 11 assists. Regis is now the winner of five straight games and holds the third spot in the RMAC standings.

Defensive Player of the Week: Tru Allen, Fort Lewis (5-Yr., Guard, Lapwai, Idaho)
Allen had a breakout weekend on the defensive end for the Skyhawks, pushing his squad to a 2-0 weekend. Against Colorado Christian, the Lapwai, Idaho native scored a game-high 17 points and four steals. Allen was also cleaning up the boards, earning a tie for the game-high in rebounds with seven. Behind Allen, Fort Lewis held the Cougars to 38 points and 25.6% shooting, the fewest points allowed to an NCAA opponent in program history. Against the Mountain Lions, Allen made his defensive presence felt, recording another four-steal performance. His impact was especially felt in the final 23 seconds, where he stole the ball and went the length of the court for a layup, and then stole the ensuing in-bounds pass to seal an 87-82 victory.

RMAC Men’s Basketball Approach – Week 11
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men’s basketball season is in full swing as the teams enter the second half of the 2025 league slate.
Colorado School of Mines, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Regis lead the conference standings with the Orediggers in sole possesion of the No. 1 spot. The Roadrunners and Rangers are currently tied for second in the conference standings, each holding an 8-2 RMAC record. This week, the Orediggers will host Fort Lewis and Adams State, while MSU Denver also welcomes in the Skyhawks and New Mexico Highlands. Adams State and New Mexico Highlands will also travel to the Regis Field House to take on the Rangers.
South Dakota Mines, Colorado Christian, University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Chadron State, Colorado State University Pueblo, and Black Hills State all look to defend home court in the season’s 11th week.

Colorado School of Mines Chosen as 2024 RMAC Men’s Basketball Preseason Favorite
- Colorado School of Mines is the preseason favorite, following the results of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Orediggers top the preseason poll with 11 first-place votes and 191 total points. The poll was voted on by the league’s head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their teams.
Keep an Eye On
- Biko Johnson (Fort Lewis) is averaging a league-leading 17.7 points per game. On the season, Johnson is recording a 41/38/74 percent shooting split. His offensive output has earned him two Offensive Player of the Week honors this season, both coming in a four-week span.
- Tristan Hurdle (Black Hills State) continues to light it up from three-point range, shooting 48% on the season. With 82 attempts on the season, Hurdle’s three-point percentage ranks fourth in DII.
- William Becker (UCCS) currently leads the league in field goal percentage with an impressive 70%. The forward has won two RMAC Defensive Player of the Week awards and has nine double-doubles on the season, tying him for the 10th most in DII. The graduate student also leads the league in blocked shots (35/1.9) and rebounds (160/8.9).
- Stewart Erhart (Fort Lewis) anchors a pesky Skyhawks defensive unit that forces an outstanding 20 turnovers per game. Fort Lewis averages 12 steals per game, with Erhart averaging a pair himself.

Three Programs in D2CSC South Central Region Rankings
- Colorado School of Mines, MSU Denver, Fort Lewis, and Regis are ranked in the latest DII College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) South Central Region Rankings. Colorado School of Mines holds the No. 3 spot, MSU Denver earns the No. 5 spot, while Fort Lewis and Regis are tied at No. 8.
- UCCS and Colorado Mesa received votes in the regional rankings but are not within the top 10.
