COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its Week 3 Men’s Golfer of the Week Award on Thursday, with Colorado Christian’s Peyton Jones claiming the honor. Jones earns the award following a tournament win at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya, hosted by Western New Mexico University.

Jones captured his first collegiate win at the Shootout at PGA Riviera Maya, held in Akumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Competing on the challenging par-72 course, the Roswell, New Mexico native carded a three-round total of 217 (+1), edging out the runner-up by a single stroke. After starting with a 4-over-par 76 in the opening round, Jones rebounded impressively in Round 2, firing a 2-under-par 70. He carried that momentum into the final round, closing with a steady 1-under-par 71 to clinch the individual title. Led by Jones’ standout performance, the Cougars secured a fifth-place team finish, outperforming nine other teams in the field.
